Corrina resides in SURFACE's high-end west side community. She is the only child of wealthy parents and is the number-one student at Vanguard's most prestigious academy. Corrina is a child-genius and daughter of James Moorer, the greatest scientific mind the world has ever known. From the outside looking in Corrina's life appears perfect, but in reality she is an outcast among her peers and a child confined to a broken family. Her father is never home and is constantly working, her parents have a very turbulent marriage, and Corrina herself has become disconnected from the both of them. Furthermore, her mother Susan is gravely depressed because of her family's situation and has turned to alcoholism and prescription drugs as a way of escape from her grief. Corrina uses the powers of her Spirit Seed, Ivoris, to fight the evil Akimitsu Enterprise alongside the Akimitsu Liberation Front (ALF). The fact that Corrina's unsuspecting father is the Director of Akimitsu's Science and Technology Division makes the girl a valuable ally of inside information for the ALF.

Jaxon (Sage) Alexander

Age- 16

Height- 6' 1''

Weight- 167lbs

Fighting Style- Street Fighting

Weapon- Staff of the Jade Serpent

Power Type- None

Jaxon is a sixteen-year-old resident of the 7th Sector Slums. He is a street wise, hot tempered

youth fueled with the anger that most young men forced to live in the underprivileged community of

the slums commonly possess. His father, Brock Alexander, was killed by the Director of SEEF and

Akimitsu Enterprises Security Forces, Giesse Morrison, when he was five-years-old. Jaxon's young

mother Basil lost her will to live after the death of her husband, and as a result she doesn't provide for

her son as well as she probably should. Jaxon is obsessed with destroying both Giesse and Akimitsu

Enterprises in order to avenge his father's death. He has fully embraced the naturally destructive and

malicious nature of Spirit Seed Viridian's power in order to accomplish this goal. As a result he has built a full dependency on Viridian's power. Jaxon is at odds with Corrina and considers her an enemy because of her

family ties to Akimitsu Enterprises.

The year is 145 A.C. (After CATASTROPHE), 144 years after the massive explosion known as CATASTROPHE ended a major global conflict and changed the face of planet Earth. Separate nations no longer exist; the planet Earth is now a single nation, the World-Nation. The World-Nation's capital city of Vanguard is located in the center of the planet and is hailed around the world as “The City of God”.

Vanguard is unique in that it isn't just a single metropolis. Vanguard is composed of multiple large cities stacked upon one another, eight cities to be exact. At the very top of the Vanguard city structure is SURFACE, an urban utopia shrouded in the wealth and prestige that Vanguard is famous for around the world. SURFACE is where the giants of business and the Nation's politicians dance their endless waltz for control of the world's money and power, weaving with one another schemes of corruption in order to satisfy their lusts for dominion and wealth.

No other business bears more guilt for such corruption than Akimitsu Enterprises. Hailed as the titan of industry, Akimitsu's central headquarters compound is located in the center of Vanguard. Akimitsu is the leading innovator in the industries of science and technology, but no other greater invention is there to Akimitsu's credit than that of Aki-E, the prime energy source on which the modern

world operates.

Equality is a word that the great city of Vanguard does not strive to uphold. Despite the declarations of equality among men that were consecrated in this very city, equality is nothing more than a myth. This is evident by the existence of the city levels that lie below the foundation of steel and concrete that SURFACE is built upon. These levels are known as the slums, each numbered by the

order in which they are stacked upon one another.

Directly beneath SURFACE are the 7th Sector slums, an urban cesspool of poverty and violence. Down here the sun does not cast its rays, and the residents of the community are reminded of their lowly position in society upon looking into the sky, only to see the rusted steel plate on which SURFACE sets its foundation. Tylan Dean, the story's protagonist, is a thirteen-year-old boy who calls

these slums home. He's an average mild-mannered teenager who can at times become very passionate in upholding his life views. Unlike any of the children in his neighborhood of Asia-Town, he is the product of a black father, Joseph Dean, and Japanese mother, Megumi Dean. Tylan lives with his parents, younger brother Jojo, and cousin Calvin in the martial arts school that his parents own and operate. Because of his appearance, he is viewed as somewhat of an outcast in his neighborhood, but he manages to stay out of trouble because of his devotion to the martial art of kenjutsu, basketball, and his strong family structure.

While commuting to school on SURFACE with his best friends Koji, Kasumi, and Summer, he is rescued by a flying green haired youth named Viridian upon being attacked by a monstrous beast that resembles both a man and a feline. While being chased through the skies of SURFACE by deadly flying objects known as Drones, Viridian explains to Tylan that they are both wanted by an elite organization established by Akimitsu Enterprises named SEEF (the Second Earth Elimination Force)

for the great powers that lie within them both.

Eventually, Tylan's terrifying power is awakened when he meets Corrina Moorer, a SURFACE girl of high prestige and a sullen demeanor who has the ability to transform into a super-powered warrior with the feral senses of an animal, and the powers to freeze men into crystal. Tylan becomes something different, taking on the form of an unruly and vulgar ancient spirit from another world that

shares his body and mind, a being known as a Spirit Seed named Flardra The Burning Phantom. Together with Corrina, her wolf-skin clad spirit guide, Ookami, and Viridian's alter-ego, Jaxon Alexander, Tylan learns of the magical origin of his newfound power and overcomes his initial fear of the Spirit Seed that lies inside of him. The three super-powered youths must learn to overcome their differences, work together to defeat the evil that is Akimitsu, and fulfill the destiny that has drawn they and their Spirit Seeds together.
